In 1965 Mike Papachrisanthou moved to the United States from Greece. He didn't know the language, but what he did know was automotive engine rebuilding. In 1976 he quit his long-time job at National Auto Supply to pursue his long-life dream of owning his own business. Mike's Automotive Machine Shop, Inc. was established on October 10, 1976 primarily as an automotive machine shop and complete engine rebuilding facility. Today, Mike's Automotive Machine Shop, Inc. (dba St. Louis Engines) exists as a custom engine rebuilding and installation facility that offers a wide range of automotive machine shop services as well as automotive repair.
